What Does Medicare Cover?
Medicare comprises of four parts. All these parts together cover almost all the major medical requirements. The parts are –
- Part A – covers the inpatient hospitalization expenses
- Part B – covers the outpatient expenses, like doctor visits, lab tests etc
- Part C also called Medicare Advantage – covers all the benefits of Part A and Part B combined and some extra benefits
- Part D – covers the cost of prescription drugs
Members have to pay certain deductibles or co- pays when they take services covered under Medicare. These out-of-pocket expenses are different for the various medical services or plans.
