Are Medicare Advantage, Medigap, or Medicare Part D plans sold through the exchange?
No. Medicare Advantage Plans (also known as Medicare Part C), Medigap policies (also known as Medicare Supplement Insurance), and Medicare Part D (prescription drug coverage) are not available through the exchange. You can sign up for plans like this via a broker or by contacting the insurer who offers the plan directly. You may also be able to sign up on the Medicare website. Please see our other Medicare-related FAQs and articles to learn more about what each of these plans can provide, what rules and limitations are involved, and which one(s) may be the best choice for you.
