aids and excellent round the clock service.
Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska offers seven individual
and family medical plans to Alaska residents. Although all its policies
provide the same top-quality benefits, they differ in the provider
network they offer. Let us have a look at some of the options.
Alaska Value Care 25 plan is easy on the budget and has limited
coverage for office visits. With this plan, the deductible will
be waived on the first three visits per calendar year. By using
hospitals within the network, members can enjoy the highest benefit
and pay the lowest out-of-pocket costs. If you join Alaska Best
Care 20, you get a wide range of coverage and pay the lowest out-of-pocket
costs when you use network hospitals.
Both Alaska Global 50 and Alaska Global 20 provide extensive coverage
for a wide variety of health care services. With Alaska Global,
you get the freedom to seek medically necessary care from any eligible
licensed provider for covered services at the highest benefit level.
Three high deductible health plans, namely Alaska HSA 20, Alaska
HSA Rx 20 and Alaska HSA Rx are qualified to work in conjunction
with tax-deductible Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). Here too, members
pay the lowest out-of-pocket costs when they use network hospitals.
Alaska Interim 20 is a temporary health-care plan that offers limited
medical services, with certain restrictions, to provide medical
coverage for one month, or up to six months in a single contract
period. As far as long term care is concerned, Premera Long Term
Care (LTC) gives members the means to obtain the services they really
need, in the manner they find suitable. In fact, they receive a
monthly check if they are eligible. Members can get the monthly
cash benefit they had chosen for as long as they need care, up to
their chosen benefit limit. They are free to use the money to choose
the care they prefer, from whomever they want, for whatever they
want, anywhere in the world. With Premera LTC, there are no vendor
restrictions or third-party bills to submit for reimbursement. Members
decide what’s best for them and can choose their own caregiver,
such as a health-care professional, relative or community member.
