Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Wisconsin

Where the likes of Virginia, Ohio, Nevada, New Hampshire and others have been blessed by the existence of Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, can Wisconsin be far behind? Like other states, Wisconsin too swears by the name of Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. As one of the biggest upholders of the Blue Cross Blue Shield ideologies, Anthem Wisconsin has served state residents for decades now. Millions of people have bestowed their faith in the organization because of its notion of putting the member first. Along with member focus what has gone down well with the people is the fact that the best healthcare comes at the most affordable rates, making it possible for almost everyone to buy coverage.

As a Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association licensee, Anthem Wisconsin has a wide member base stretching from individuals and families to employee groups. If you’re single or have a family, you can opt from amongst Blue Preferred Plus 80 and 100, Blue Access 80, 90 and 100, Blue Access Economy and Blue Short Term. The Blue Preferred Plus 80 and 100 plans are great for budget conscious individuals and families. In fact, individuals get a deductible choice range of $250 to $10,000. Also, this plan is ideal if you want to save on prescription drugs and want coverage even when on the move. The Blue Access 80, 90 and 100 plans are similar to the previous one, being different only as far as the number of plan goes. In this case, individuals and families can choose from three plan options as per requirement. Optional coverage categories comprise prescription drugs and maternity care.

Blue Access Economy brings to millions the hope of securing quality coverage at an affordable price. There are four deductibles from which members can choose so that they can have adequate control over the premium amount. Blue Short Term caters to members going without health coverage temporarily. For individuals the lower spectrum of the deductible range stays as low as $250 and for families it stays at $750. On the higher end, individuals have to pay $5000 and families $15000. Coverage period remains between 30 and 180 days.

Persons over the age of 65 can choose coverage from the Medicare category plans comprising Advantage plans, Supplement plans and the Blue Medicare Rx Prescription Drug plan.

Employee groups have access to plans like Blue Access PPO, Blue Preferred HMO and Business Options PPO/POS plans amongst others. Blue Access PPO gives a lot of flexibility to members letting them access professionals both from within the given network and outside it. Also, they can consult anyone without taking referrals. Business Options PPO/POS is perfectly suited for organizations with 2 to 50 employees. Groups can choose either the PPO or POS plan, giving themselves necessary financial freedom in both cases. Blue Preferred HMO, on the other hand, is meant for groups of more than 51 employees. Under this plan preventive care is extensively covered and so are services related to mental health and substance abuse.
